Spaces Design Competition
What are we looking for?
We need original and innovative thinkers to come up with a concept and design for a networking and creative learning event to take place in Manchester.
We want you to think about all aspects of the event from the look and feel of the space to creative ideas to make the content really stand out.
Aspects for consideration should include space planning, lighting concepts, inspired sounds and music, textile and decor choices, suitable activities for corporate delegates and ideas for a running order to show you’ve thought about how everything can piece together.
So, to give you an idea (without giving too much away), we want an environment in which people can meet and network, with additional areas where interactive learning and creative thinking can be taking place simultaneously.
We want the core items that you use to be sustainable so need ideas on how we can re-use them for events further down the line.
Where's the venue?
The event will take place at a fictitious venue for around 800 guests – we are more interested in your designs and ideas, rather than the intricate details such as venue dimension and budget restraints.
OK, so you might want to know what’s in it for us, and more importantly what’s in it for you?
What do we get from it?
We get fresh ideas and new concepts that we can implement in our projects from people who see things differently. With years of experience within the industry, we feel it is important to challenge conventional thought when it comes to utilising and creating temporary event spaces and environments. We therefore want enthusiastic and talented individuals from outside the events industry to help us enhance our events.
What do you get from it?
You get an overwhelming sense of self-fulfillment, achieved through your hard work and dedication, you get an impressive piece of work for your portfolio... you also get £1,000 cash if you win or the chance to do work experience with Rapport Events. There will also be prizes for the two runners up, so three times the chance of winning!
The “Spaces” challenge gives you the chance to take your ideas out of the lecture theatre and apply them to real life; it will help you with the rest of your studies and give you practical experience with a tangible ending.
How do I enter?
You can submit your ideas digitally or using a mood board by 5pm on Thursday 30th April 2009.
Entries can be emailed to spaces@rapportevents.com or posted to Rapport Events, 215 Ducie House, Ducie Street, Manchester M1 2JW
The lucky winner and runners up will be notified by 22nd May 2009.
Good Luck!
