26 Jun 2009 Social Entrepreneurs Revealed
Following the success of the BoS Entrepreneur ‘Search’ and ‘Challenge’ events held at the end of last year, we were delighted to be asked to produce the Social Entrepreneur Awards last night. The event was a celebration of Social Entrepreneurship and the impact it makes on the not-for-profit community.
Applicants were asked to enter the competition in two ‘tiers’; the first, ‘lower tier’, prize went to Jesse Joe Jacobs, from 'A Way Out'. Jesse can claim £5m of funding or a donation of up to £500,000. The second ‘higher tier’, was awarded to Anne Wexelstein from Columbia 1400, who won up to £1m of funding or up to a £100,000 donation.
Held at the impressive Christ Church in Spitalfields, London, the event boasted a bespoke set, as well as uplighting which reflected the corporate colours and highlighted the dramatic architecture of the 300 year old interior.
In addition to managing the judging process and full event production, we were again asked to produce all video footage for the event,. This included pre-event vox pop-style interviews with all nominees, which were then played during the event and all filming of the ceremony. From this footage we then created a ‘highlights’ video, which can be viewed online on the weblink below.
Full coverage of the event can be found in this weekends Sunday Times newspaper or on the website http://entrepreneurs.bankofscotland.co.uk/social
