Creativity and freethinking is something we truly advocate here at Rapport and we encourage everyone to put forward their ideas, no matter how wacky or undeveloped they may be at our internal meetings.

This has been further developed into a theory called ‘Greenhousing’, the idea stems (pardon the pun!) from the metaphor of nurturing a seedling. Plants are at their most fragile when they are small and need carefully tending to grow in to plants, to do this gardeners will often us greenhouses, to ensure the seedlings are protected and get the best chance at thriving.

“Greenhousing is the behaviour that protects young ideas when they are at their most vulnerable, and nurtures them into healthy growth’ Sticky Wisdom.

Many businesses operate a fast-paced decision making process, and this is sometimes necessary, however its important to take the time to listen to new ideas and take time to think before you react. As Chris discovered at a conference this week, one negative remark, a certain look or even something as seemingly minute as a sigh could crush a dream before its even begun.
